How It Works

OPTASE® HYLO Night™ forms a long-lasting, protective film over the eyes to relieve burning, soreness, and dryness overnight. Its soft, consistent ointment contains Vitamin A as an inactive ingredient to support tear film stability and protect the eye surface.

The active ingredients—White Petrolatum, Lanolin, and Light Mineral Oil—lubricate and shield the eyes, helping to relieve dryness while preventing further irritation and exposure, making it gentle, effective, and well tolerated for nightly use.

Directions for Use

  1. Remove the protective cap.
  2. Tilt your head back and gently pull down the lower eyelid with one hand.
  3. Hold the tube upright above the eye with the other hand. Without touching the tip to your eye or eyelid, squeeze out one strip of ointment into the space between the eye and eyelid.
  4. Close your eye gently and blink normally to spread the ointment.
  5. Replace the cap firmly to maintain sterility. Avoid contact between the tube tip and any surface to prevent contamination.

  • Do not use simultaneously with other ophthalmic drugs. If necessary, wait 30 minutes after applying the other eye medication before using Optase Hylo Night.
  • Apply the ointment by gently pressing the tube, avoiding cracking or rolling it.
  • Safe for children, pregnant, and breastfeeding women; there are no usage restrictions in these groups.
  • Do not share the ointment with others.
  • Rarely, hypersensitivity reactions may occur (redness, burning, itching, or excessive tearing). These typically resolve after discontinuing use.

How Often and How Long to Use

  • Typically applied once daily at bedtime.
  • In severe dry eye cases, it may be used up to three times daily.
  • Can be used alongside lubricating eye drops.
  • Daytime use should be with caution due to blurred vision.
